    Sandlot

    League Rules: Sandlot (8 year olds)

    Sandlot League Rules
    (8 Year Old Division)

    1. 50’ distance between bases. Bases are not fixed.

    2. Continuous batting order. Teams will bat through their line-ups each half inning.  Batters will be given a maximum of 5 pitches to hit the ball fair. Batting “T” will be used if batter is unsuccessful in putting the ball in play after 5 pitches.

    3. Adult coaches will pitch the first half of the season. Teams may experiment with pitching to their own team in the second half of the season. Players may only pitch 1 inning per game. Adult coaches will pitch if team has limited pitching staff. The 5 pitch rule will remain in effect whether a player or coach is pitching.

    4. All players play defense. Defensive players will not be allowed to play an outfield position in consecutive innings.

    5. Games will consist of 4 innings if time permits. Time limit: Saturdays - no new inning starts after 80 minutes.

    6. Over throws at 1st, 3rd and home are dead ball situations. Runners may not advance.

    7. After 3 outs in an inning, the bases are cleared, but the team at bat will continue to bat through the balance of its line-up.
