    League Rules: Sauer (14 & Under)

    Hank Sauer, Sr. League Rules
    (14 & Under Division)

    1. 80’ distance between bases. Bases are fixed. Pitching distance is 54’.

    2. Continuous batting order.

    3. Free substitutions – players may not sit out more than 6 defensive outs at a time or more than 9 defensive outs per game.

    4. Runners may lead off 1st, 2nd and 3rd bases without penalty.

    5. No Straight Steal of Home - runners may not steal home off the pitcher. However, runner at 3rd base may steal home after the catcher has caught the ball and is throwing the ball back to the pitcher. They may also steal home when a ball is thrown to
    2nd base during an attempted steal when 1st and 3rd are occupied. Runners may also attempt to go home on wild pitches and passed balls.

    6. Pitching:

    Regular Season:

    Pitchers are limited to a maximum of three (3) innings per game with a maximum of 5 warm-up pitches allowed between innings or a similar time period. A maximum of 10 warm-up pitches are allowed for a relief pitcher.

    Note: It is also highly recommended that if a player pitches more than two (2) innings on Friday, he should be limited to one (1) inning of pitching on Saturday.

    Playoffs:

    Pitchers are limited to a maximum of four (4) innings per game with a maximum of 5 warm-up pitches allowed between innings or a similar time period. A maximum of 10 warm-up pitches are allowed for a relief pitcher.

    7. Seven (7) inning games.

    8. Time limit: Weekdays – No new inning begins after 7:15 PM; Saturdays – No new inning begins after 2 hours and 15 minutes. 12 run rule after 4 innings for all games, except Consolation & League Championship games.

    9. All other rules will be governed by the “Official Baseball Rules.”
