Tournament Season Wrapup: U10 Team (Burlingame Red)The Burlingame Red (9-10 year olds) had a successful tournament season qualifying for the Sunday playoff round in each of their last 4 tournaments. The boys won twelve games and lost only six games during their final four tournaments. They played impressive defense, relied on solid pitching and achieved quality at bats across the entire team. The boys lost the championship game in San Bruno by a score of 5-4 leaving the tying run on 3rd base in the 5th inning. They qualified as the #1 seed in the Foster City tournament amongst a field of 16 teams only to lose a 9th inning heartbreaker in the quarterfinals to Pacifica (who won two championships this summer). They also lost a 4-3 heartbreaker to Foster City in the Pacifica tournament, a competitor who also can claim two Bay Area championship victories this summer. Burlingame players who led the team in hits across 25 tournament game this summer include Cooper Gindraux (38), Griffin Intrieri (32), and Patrick Caulfield (30). Leading the team in RBIs were Cole Anderson (25), Patrick Caulfield (22), and Cooper Gindraux (20). The teamʼs key pitchers were Adam Kohli, Patrick Caulfield and Matt Stevens, with additional help from Cole Anderson and Cooper Gindraux. Other players contributing the teamʼs victories include: Ben Kuperschmid, William Brownlow, Ethan Hyman, Aidan Faust, Andres Gomez, Kaleb Keelean and Jack Brownrigg. from Coach Olivier Gindraux Burlingame 10U Team at the San Bruno TournamentSubmitted by admin on Sun, 07/13/2008 - 8:35pmBurlingame red (9-10 year olds) placed runner-up in the San Bruno July 4th tournament, losing in the championship game 5-4 to the San Bruno Mustangs. The Burlingame team won 5 straight games placing them in the championship game, including an 8-1 victory over El Cerrito Blue, the #1 seed, in the semi-finals. Burlingame players leading the team in hits includes Cooper Gindraux (20), Griffin Intrieri (17), and Patrick Caulfield (14). Team RBI leaders include: Cooper Gindraux (17), Patrick Caulfield (15), and Cole Anderson (14). The team’s defense has been superb led by starting pitchers Adam Kohli, Patrick Caulfield and Matt Stevens. Cole Anderson has provided spot relief across many tight games. The team won their first tournament game in Foster City 13-3 on Wednesday against the Pacifica Black Fog.
